Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan praised on Wednesday Egypt's efforts in clinching the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
This came during his phone call with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri, as they discussed the latest developments there and Egyptian efforts to stop Palestinian bloodletting.
Al Jarwan stressed the Arab Parliament's support to Palestinians through dispatching a high-level delegation to Geneva soon to meet senior officials in the Red Cross Organization, UNHCR, Swiss parliament, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union to raise the issue of Israeli violations of all international charters.
A long-term ceasefire has been agreed between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, ending seven weeks of fighting that left more than 2,200 people dead.
The agreement included opening crossings, allowing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, in addition to reconstruction materials.
