Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmed Ben Helli met Sunday with Director of the Middle East Department at the Turkish Foreign Ministry Onhon Omar who is currently visiting Cairo.
The meeting tackled the future of the Arab - Turkish relations and ways to remove obstacles to advance cooperation between the two sides.
They discussed work to hold the sixth session of the frozen Arab-Turkish forum.
Ben Helli attributed the freezing of the Forum to some obstacles that hinder the development of cooperation and coordination between the Arab and Turkey.
Arab foreign ministers will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations in September, and the meeting may be an opportunity to discuss these differences, he said.
He termed his discussions with the Turkish official as frank and clear.
