The Arab League has rejected the U.S. response to a speech delivered by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas before the UN General Assembly's 69th session in New York.
Assistant Secretary General for Palestine Mohamad Sobeih said Monday: "We feel sorry for the U.S. response to President Abbas's speech."
He criticized the U.S. for not condemning the Israeli side or forcing it to end its recent aggression on the Gaza Strip.
He wondered: "Why we can't hear a correct response from the U.S. as a co-sponsor of the Middle East peace process?"
"Abbas has expressed what he personally and all Arabs and Muslims feel and has condemned the Israeli murder of Palestinian children and other Israeli crimes," Sobeih concluded.
