The Arab League secretariat general denied on Sunday a media report that Secretary General Nabil el-Arabi was vacationing in London during the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
This is a groundless report, it said in a statement, stressing that Arabi was last in London in January.
Arabi has been and is still exerting utmost efforts to end the aggression and he made many statements during the Gaza offensive, the statement said.
"We issued such a statement because of the paper's insistence to spread such lies in different media outlets to avoid any confusion at this time," the statement said.
From the day the aggression has begun, the Secretary General held more than one meeting and contact with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the different Palestinian factions and the UN chief to end the aggression.
He has been also trying to work with the UN agencies concerned to issue a Security Council resolution condemning Israel.
