
The Yemeni Ministry of Interior said Friday the security services killed Turki Al-Asiri, a leading member of Al-Qaeda organization, in a manhunt in the southern Governorate of Lahj.
In a gun battle during the manhunt yesterday Al-Asiri, nicknamed as "Marawan Al-Makki" or Lahj Amir, was killed and his companion Murad Saleh Al-Sorouri was slightly injured, according to a statement by the Ministry.
Al-Sorouri was escorted to prison after receiving first aid, the statement added.
