Police have ensured security for 8,095,264 passengers in Algiers Underground, arresting 73 people wanted by justice during the first quarter in 2014, the communication officer at the General Directorate of National Police, Chief Superintendent Djilali Boudalia, said Thursday.
"The positive results achieved so far are due to the professionalism of police officers in fulfilling their duty according to the guidelines of the director general of national police, Major General Abdelghani Hamel, and which are aimed at ensuring citizens' safety and protection for their properties," Boudalia said.
To ensure safety for people and protection for their properties, underground police are "equipped with the best devices to discover what is likely to undermine public order, in addition to the increase of police presence through the different underground stations and trains."
