
A seminar on the improvement of social security services in North Africa has got underway Tuesday in Algiers.
The two-day meeting will allow social security institutions of the five North African countries, members of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) to share their experiences in the field.
The participants in the seminar, organized by the national social security funds in collaboration with ISSA, will address several themes, particularly "the legal and normative instruments to improve the quality of social security services," "the strengthening of the capacity of social security institutions to improve the quality of services" and "the use of strategic tool of the information and communication technologies (ICTs) to improve the services."
The Algerian social security funds will also present the national experience and major reforms carried out over the last decade.
In this regard, they will highlight the launch of the electronic insurance card Chifa and its prospects as well as the Higher Institute of Social Security in Algiers, according to the organizers.
The opening session of the ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the General Union of the Algerian Workers (UGTA), Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, ISSA Secretary General Hans-Horst Konkolewsky and directors general and executives of the social security funds of Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and Mauritania.
