
The General Directorate of Police (DGSN) celebrated Tuesday evening in Algiers its 52nd anniversary which was marked by the promotion of several officers.
The official ceremony took place in the Higher Police School “Ali Tounsi” in the presence of the government’s members, the State’s senior officials and representatives of the civil society.
Chaired by the chief of national police (DGSN) Major General Abdelghani Hamel, the national day of police was marked by the presentation of awards and diplomas to former directors general and retired police officers.
Several field officers were also promoted to higher ranks during this ceremony.
The national day of police, celebrated on July 22 every year, is placed under the patronage of Interior and Local Authorities Ministry.
