
Individual meetings will take place soon with governors (walis) to assess the situation of local development in each province (wilaya), announced Wednesday in Oran, the Minister of State, Minister of the Interior and Local Authorities, Tayeb Belaiz.
The minister stressed during a press conference held at the end of his working visit to the province, he will chair meetings with governors the presence of central directors of the sector, adding such meetings will ensure better monitoring and an accurate and comprehensive assessment of all the achievements and projects implemented as part of local development and help to remove all obstacles.
Tayeb Belaiz said the local development will be the main axis in the agenda of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government after completion of the operation of administrative modernization.
Efforts will focus on reviving local development through strengthening the role of municipalities and improving their performance, stressed the minister who stated that a thorough study of the services of his department shown that many problems faced by citizens have a link with the township and that protests are due to mundane problems.
