
A detachment of the forces of the People's National Army (ANP) arrested on Wednesday near In-Guezzam 23 Niger nationals, seized an all-terrain vehicle and other products, said Thursday the Department of National Defence a statement.
"As part of border security and the fight against smuggling and illegal immigration and during a patrol conducted last Wednesday, October 15, 2014 near In-Guezzam/6th Military Region, a detachment of the National People's Army has arrested twenty-three Niger nationals and seized an all-terrain vehicles and other products," said the source.
Furthermore, "following patrols by members of the National Gendarmerie, in the province of Tamanrasset, nine people, including seven Algerians and two from Niger were arrested, and three tourist vehicles and 455 liters of fuel were seized," the statement added.
