The Speaker of the Parliament of Albania Ilir Meta on Wednesday thanked the State of Kuwait for its continuing support to his country in the field of development.
He said that this move reflects the historical relations between the two countries, deeming them as "excellent".
In his talks with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Albania Najib Al-Bader and Kuwaiti Embassy Third Secretary Saud Al-Mutairi, Meta praised the noticeable development in bilateral relations that underscores the keenness of the two countries to strengthen joint cooperation.
Meta also commended the outcomes of his visit to Kuwait last June, stressing that it contributed to strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Bader told KUNA that he congratulated Meta as Albania was elected by UN General Assembly to the 15 member UN Human Rights Council for a three-year term (2015-2017) beginning January 1, 2015.
Al-Bder said this move reveals international appreciation to the efforts exerted by Albania in supporting main freedoms relating to human rights.
