
Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi stressed the importance of President Bashar al-Assad’s speech following the swearing-in ceremony for a new term.
In an interview with the Syrian TV broadcast Wednesday, al-Zoubi described President al-Assad’s speech as ” a speech of a political realism” which represents the mind of the state of feeling of national responsibility towards the events and challenges facing Syria.
The Information Minister asserted that President al-Assad’s speech demonstrates the big political capability of President al-Assad and the Syrian state in general and the Syrian people in particular in addition to their ability to confront, steadfast and to be patient in the face of the challenges.
Al-Zoubi pointed out that the living, economic and humanitarian concern of the Syrian citizen is President al-Assad’s top priority as he daily follows up, with the government, all the details of these issues.
He called for holding accountable all those who benefit from the critical situation in Syria and those who exploits the needs of the people for profit-taking, asserting that the danger of those is no less than the danger of gunmen who carried weapons against the state and the people.
On the Palestinian Cause, al-Zoubi said ” Our relation with it started since the first moment of the start of the Arab-Israeli conflict and it is an inevitable relationship and Palestine is our home,” expressing Syria’s firm stances towards the Palestinian people.
