Aid relief work resumes in Palestinian Yarmouk camp
Amman - KUNA

A Palestinian official said local and international relief organizations resumed food aid operations on Saturday to Palestinian Yarmouk refugee camp south of the Syrian capital Damascus.
Palestinian high school students studying in Yarmouk camp will be taken to the Martyr Said Al-A'as Institute that belongs to the Public Authority for Syrian Refugees and the Institute for Palestine, sponsored by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), so that they be able to take their exams there, the Director General of the General Authority for Palestinian Refugees in Syria, Ali Mustafa, said in a statement.
The Palestinian official added that 84 students with basic education and their supervisors have returned to the camp after they finished their exams, carrying food supplies.
Mustafa noted that the Authority, UNRWA and Palestinian Charity Commission distributed 584 food baskets, yesterday, in addition to the 548 medical aid kits in the camp.
The official added that the total food baskets that have been distributed since last January after negotiations between the Syrian authorities and delegations from the Palestine Liberation Organization and armed groups inside the camp have reached 26,645, along with 2,943 medical kits.
The Authority had indicated that in cooperation with UNRWA, it would start as of tomorrow distributing 500 baskets per day; one per family every 15 days.
Meanwhile, a new batch of aid arrived yesterday to areas in Aleppo, northern Syria, under control of the Syrian opposition, consisting of 15 trucks of food supplies intended to 30,000 people there
