MP Moustafa Bakri said that Abu Simbel road in southern Aswan was re-opened following successful mediation efforts by several MPs in coordination with the government.
In statements to MENA on Wednesday, Bakri said that following mediation efforts by MPs Yassin Abdel-Sabour, Amr Aboelyazid and Mohamed Salim, the Nubain sitters-in agreed on re-opening the road.
In the coming days, senior officials will hold meetings with representatives of the Nubains to activate the provisions of the Constitution and the law that granted them their rights.
Bakri added he will hold a press conference on the outcome of negotiations between the two sides in the coming hours.
