The family of Mohamed Abo Khodeir said that they "refused to welcome" the former Israeli president in a condolences tent in their house in Shufat, Maan News Agency reported Tuesday.
The “body guards of Shimon Peres came to the tent earlier to prepare for his visit” but the family refused to receive him.
The relative said that Mohamad's father received "dozens of phone calls from foreigners and Israelis paying their condolences, but he did not realize one of them was (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and was surprised when media published this.”
He highlighted that the family rejected the Israeli prime minister’s condolences.
"We refuse to accept the condolences of someone who agrees on the murder of our people in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza," he said.
The family added that the Israeli government was covering up the attacks of Israeli settlers and did not punish them.
