Abu Dhabi invites UAE artists to participate in A Touch of Heritage National

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has announced an open call for UAE-based and Emirati visual arts practitioners to participate in the upcoming exhibition, "A Touch of Heritage". Artists can participate by submitting photographs, traditional and digital paintings, drawings and other works of contemporary art inspired by the UAE.

Set to open to the public on 29th November, the exhibition will showcase the natural beauty, diversity and rich environment of the emirate, and will be organised as part of the 46th UAE National Day celebrations.

Sumayya Al Suwaidi, Community Events Manager at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said, "The UAE’s rich ecosystems and diverse environments have long been an intrinsic part of our cultural heritage, and continues to be a vital source of inspiration for the country’s visual arts. Building on the successes of the first edition, this second installment of 'A Touch of Heritage' continues our enduring commitment to inspire the people of the UAE and foster visual creativity within our local artists. Embracing all mediums and methods of creativity, the exhibition also invites visitors to embark on a remarkable journey of exploration that bridges together the country’s wonderful natural heritage and cultural ethos."

Alongside showcasing Abu Dhabi’s flourishing art sector through contemporary works ranging from paintings, photographs, sculptures, and synthetic and printing works, the exhibition will also provide a valuable platform for the local arts community to network, interact and learn more about the country’s achievements in the artistic landscape.

The free-to-enter exhibition will be hosted at Manarat al Saadiyat on Saadiyat Island, and will be open daily to the public.
