Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asserted that the Palestinian leadership is keen on the Egyptian role and initiative that aims to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Speaking at a meeting at the Palestinian presidency's headquarters in Ramallah, Abbas said “Egypt is not a mediator, but part of the initiative.”
He added that the Palestinian leadership’s current role “is to stop the Israeli attacks on Gaza and bloodletting.”
He addressed Israel and the whole world saying that “Israeli bids to divide Al Haram al-Sharif in al-Quds (East Jerusalem) are not acceptable.”
In the meantime, he pointed out that a planned donor conference will be held in Egypt next month.
