The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has recorded 624 domestic workers requests at the Tas’heel Customer Service Centre in Umm al Qaiwain in 18 days.

Aisha Bel Harfia, Assistant Undersecretary of Domestic Workers Affairs, said, "We process requests electronically then a notification letter shall be sent via SMS or email which the customer has noted, the message will inform the applicant of the current request status."

"Domestic workers services include the issuance of new entry permit, issue work permits, new residency, and work permit renewal services."

Belharfia stressed all service centres’ readiness in processing all forms of requests promptly, especially in light of the ministry's guidelines to ensure effective service delivery.

According to the law, domestic workers are those that are employed by households and includes housemaids, cooks, security guards, drivers, gardeners, and shepherds.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced sole functionality of Domestic Workers’ services across the Tas’heel service centres located in Umm Al Qaiwain back in May 2017, marking the beginning of the second phase of the initiative which began in Dubai at the end of 2016.
