Three members of parliament have filed an interpellation motion against His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on account of a number of issues, primarily those about housing and rising rents. The move was jointly made by Riyad Al-Adsani, Abdulkareem Al-Kandari and Hussein Quaiqaan pursuant to Article 100 of the country's constitution, which allows members of parliament to cross-examine the prime minister and cabinet ministers over their ministerial affairs. The grilling motion includes queries bearing on major problems like, inter alia, housing, high land and property prices, rising rentals, joblessness, the private sector's laid-off workers, health, environment, mandatory retirement and overseas investment.
