Four people were killed and 11 others wounded in three car bombings in the Iraqi city of Karbala on Monday, a security source said.
The bombings of the explosive-laden cars targeted civilians at commercial areas in the most sacred Shia shrine, the security source told KUNA.
Karbala is home to two of the most sacred Shia shrines and is located about 90km south of the capital city of Baghdad.
The car blasts came hours after a suicide bomber blew himself up among Shia worshippers as they left a mosque in a commercial area in central Baghdad.
