A total of 230 Palestinian children are languishing in Israeli jails, the Gaza's Ministry of Social Affairs said Saturday. "Children prisoners are subject to psychological and physical torture," the ministry said in a report on the occasion of Palestinian Children's Day, which falls on April 5, Haberler.com reported. The ministry accused Israel of violating all international conventions on the protection of children, going on to call on human rights groups to intervene to release Palestinian children in Israeli prisons. It went on to call on the United Nations and UNICEF to bring Israel to accountability over what it called Israeli crimes against children. "Palestinian children have the right to enjoy an honorable life," the ministry said.
