Twenty Iraqis were killed and 54 others injured in series of car explosions in separate areas in the Iraqi capital, a security source stated on Tuesday. One car bomb went off this afternoon in a popular market at Al-Husseiniya, northern Baghdad, killing three civilians, injuring 12 others, and causing damages to three parked civilian vehicles, the source from Baghdad Operational Command told KUNA. Another car exploded in Al-Nasser Square at Al-Saadoun Street, central Baghdad, killing six civilians, injuring 14 others, and damaging two parked civilian vehicles, added the source. Also, two other car-bombs exploded sequentially near a medical clinics building in Al-Mushajar Street at Al-Bataween, central the capital, killing eight Iraqis, injuring 20 others, and causing fire property damages to several commercial stores and five parked automobiles, the source said. In addition, one car-bomb went off in Al-Zaafaraniya district, southern Baghdad, killing three people and injuring eight others with multiple wounds, noted the source. Ambulances and firefighters rushed into the explosions locations to transport victims and put down the fire, the source indicated, adding that security forces intensified their procedures in the affected areas, where the four blasts took place.
