Thousands of Bahraini youngsters took to the streets in sport cars and on motorbikes in an act of respect and support to Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahraini Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Bahrain Youth Society President Ali Sharafi, the organiser of "Love and Allegiance to Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa" march said the event is a message by the Bahraini youth to the whole world of the immense love and respect to Shaikh Nasser.
The march started from the car park at Bahrain International Circuit and proceeded to the International Endurance Village. More than 4000 sport cars and 500 different motorbikes took part in the march which also witnessed the participation of GCC nationals.
The march itinerary was decorated with the Bahraini flag and national songs were sung in support of Shaikh Nasser on the way to the endurance village.
Another massive march in cars and on motorbikes also set off from Qalali Square and ended in the International Endurance Village in support of Shaikh Nasser. Youngsters, women, children and the elderly also participated in the breath-taking show in tribute to Bahrain’s leaders and symbols.
Non-government organisations and GCC nationals also took part while lifting Shaikh Nasser’s photos and the Bahraini flag.
Head of the Information Committee Mohammed Al-Arab said the massive popular march is a strong response to the suspicious campaign waged by some mass media against Shaikh Nasser by disseminating lies. The march, he added, is a message of allegiance by the Bahraini people and youngsters to Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad to re-emphasise popular unity in facing attempts to defame the nation’s symbols.
