Eighteen fugitive Muslim Brotherhood senior leaders and members were arrested in Fayoum.
They have been convicted of committing riots, instigating violence, attempted murder, storming police stations, illegal protest, and belonging to an outlawed group.
Detectives succeeded in identifying the hideouts of the wanted fugitives, including four of the group’s fundraisers.
In December 2013, the government declared the Muslim Brotherhood a 'terrorist organization', blaming it for a string of attacks in the country and banning all its activities nationwide, including their regular protests.
