The Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali received Sunday a detailed report from the social solidarity directorates in the three flood-hit governorates (Red Sea- Sohag- Qena) on the casualties, losses as well as the efforts exerted to help the victims.

This comes within the framework of the round-the-clock following up to the consequences of the floods which hit number of governorates.

The report of the Red Sea social solidarity directorate mentioned that the casualties in Ras Gharib reached 8 deaths and 23 injured, noting that there is electricity outage and the water is still accumulating.

There are efforts exerted to help those affected by the floods as 600 cartons of food stuff and 900 blankets were offered to them.

The aid team affiliated to the Egyptian Red Crescent provided 600 blankets to the residents, while a businessman donated with 200 blankets to be distributed to Ras Gharib residents in coordination with the Social Solidarity Ministry.

A sum of EGP 10.000 was given for the family of every death case, while EGP 2.000 was provided to each wounded.

Concerning Qena governorate, the report showed that there are nine death cases and 23 injured, while there was no affected houses as the floods hit the eastern area which is empty from homes.

The report further mentioned that there are 14 wounded persons in Sohag with no death cases reported.
