Qasr el Nile Court of Misdemeanor on Tuesday acquitted 15 defendants of Al Ahly Ultras fans in the case of storming the sporting club premises in Al Gazeira.
The prosecution accused the 15 defendants of protesting in violation of the law, disrupting public peace and order, assaulting a judicial officer and intimidating the club members.
In October last year, The Al Ahly Sporting Club announced that the club's fans stormed the headquarters and chanted hostile slogans against its board.
The fans' anger came in the wake of an investigation into financial wrong doings by Hassan Hamdy, the president of the board of directors, that led to the Ultras Ahlawy fan club to label him a disgrace to the club and called for his removal. The UItras already oppose Hamdy, whom they hold accountable for not pressing for the prosecution of those responsible for the Port Said Stadium massacre.
