Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad al-Khalifa
Manama - Arab Today

His Majesty the King's Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has expressed deep regret following the disruption of the interests of a number of citizens as many major highways were partially closed to make way for 'Challenge Bahrain' International Triathlon Championship hosted by Bahrain, with the participation of a group of world champions, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness on organising the tournament in line with its goals.
Shaikh Nasser pointed out that the race route was put in line with the triathlon's objectives in various countries, such as highlighting the cultural and developmental side and places of heritage and tourism to identify the civilization of the host countries.
He added that all the contestants praised the Kingdom's achievements and urban and economic progress.
He said that the race is a milestone for Bahrain, regardless of what happened, all eyes were on Bahrain because of this race, along with receiving 20 million visitors to the race website and live broadcast from around the world, which contributed to the promotion of the Kingdom's development and civilization following the objectives of Bahrain Vision 2030 of using sports and youth activities to promote Bahrain.
Shaikh Nasser asserted that they worked hard in order to reflect Bahrain's outstanding image as he pledged to host more organised championships in the future and avoid any disruption.
He expressed his appreciation for the citizens' understanding and love for Bahrain.
