Shanghai - AFP
World number three Rory McIlroy said on Monday he hoped to round off a "life-changing" year and smash his mini-win drought by claiming two more titles this season. McIlroy, who is yet to win again since becoming the youngest ever US Open champion in June, made the confident prediction after a run of four consecutive top-three finishes, including second place in the Korea Open on Sunday. "It would be good to get another win before the end of the season," he told AFP in Shanghai, where he is playing in the Shui On Land China Golf Challenge. "My last two tournaments, I've finished second in both. I'm getting better, just waiting for that next one," he said. The 22-year-old Northern Irishman has several big tournaments coming up, including the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, the Hong Kong Open and the Dubai World Championship. "If I could win one of those three or even two of them... I feel as if I'm playing well enough," he said. He said he had fully recovered from an injury to his right forearm, which he suffered in August at the PGA Championship after hitting a tree root with his club during a shot. "It's 100 percent. I just needed to rest it for a few weeks," McIlroy said. The Shui On Land China Golf Challenge is an exhibition event featuring McIlroy, world number two Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Liang Wenchong, who are playing 18 holes in seven Chinese cities in seven days.
