Holloway - Arabstoday
Steve Bould admits that leaving his role as Under-18s manager will be “massively hard” - but says he could not turn down the chance to be Arsène Wenger’s No 2. The former Arsenal centre back has proved to be a huge success in his role with the Academy, and has helped a number of players make their way into the first team. But following Pat Rice’s retirement, Bould has been named as the Club’s new assistant manager and he admits is will be tough to leave his current role. “[It will be] massively hard, I have had a fabulous time and loved every minute of it,” he told Arsenal Player. “I think I have been quoted as saying I have the best job in the world. "But when an opportunity opens up like the one that has, I just couldn't turn that down and it is a complete privilege to be asked to fill that position. “The big achievement [as Under-18s manager] is seeing young kids make careers. Not necessarily in our first team, that is the bonus, but just knowing that you have had some input into players making careers. “It is a fabulous job when all is said and done, despite the pressure and everything else that goes with it. But to see the kids come in and leave as young men is a bonus.”
