Unidentified militants on Friday shot dead a traffic official in Yemen's port city of Aden, local media reported.
The militants on a motorcycle opened fire heavily at Colonel Marawan Abu Shawqi as he was getting out of his house, killing him on the spot, Aden Al Ghad paper quoted witnesses as saying.
Aden has been witnessing intensive campaigns to arrest militants and terrorists as part of a plan to cleanse the southern provinces from al-Qaida elements and other terrorist groups.
