About 22 people were killed during confrontations between Houthi militias and pro-legitimacy popular resistance fighters in Jawf governorate, Yemeni military sources said.

Fourteen Houthis were killed alongside eight resistance fighters, Al Arabiya news channel reported on Thursday.

Arab coalition fighter jets shelled on Thursday an arms depot of Houthi militias at the Military Academy of Air Force and Air Defense in Sanaa, Yemeni military sources said.

The coalition warplanes destroyed a cache of heavy weapons of the militias at the military airport of Hodeidah in western Yemen, Al Arabiya news channel reported, quoting the sources.

About 24 militia personnel were killed in the raids that targeted their posts in Hodeidah.

The airstrikes coincided with continued clashes in northern and eastern Mocha district in Yemen.

On Wednesday, Houthi leader Yahya Eryani and his five bodyguards were killed in an airstrike of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Since Monday, the Saudi-led coalition has reportedly carried out over 30 airstrikes near the Khalid ibn al-Walid camp.

Yemen has been engulfed in a military conflict between the government headed by Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and Houthi rebels, the country’s main opposition force. The Houthis are backed by army units loyal to former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Since March 2015, the Saudi-led coalition of mostly Persian Gulf countries has been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthis at Hadi's request.
