Kabul - QNA

Afghan security forces conducted a number of operations in the last 24 hours that killed 47 people and injured 12 others. The Afghan Ministry of Interior said in a statement today that the operations were carried out in cooperation with the army and intelligence in eight different regions. The forces also captured three armed rebels. The ministry did not mention any losses from its ranks. Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama arrived Sunday morning in Afghanistan on a surprise visit to the US military base in the country. The visit comes ahead of the US and the EU’s imminent withdrawal of their troops. The US has 32,000 soldiers in Afghanistan, down from 100,000 in 2010.
