At least 33 Taliban militants were killed and 20 were injured in military operations by Afghan army in the past 24 hours, defense officials said Thursday according to Afghan online news agency Khama Press.
Five militants were arrested and several types of weapons and ammunition were confiscated, Defense Ministry Spokesman Gen. Zahir Azimi said, adding that 71 improvised explosive devices were also discovered and seized in the process.
Meanwhile, at least three Afghan soldiers were killed in the past 24 hours, Azimi said without giving further details on the exact location of their death.
