Israeli troops patrolling the Gaza security fence shot and wounded a Palestinian who was approaching the barrier with a bomb on Friday evening, according to the Israeli military.
Two men were spotted approaching a restricted military zone on the Palestinian side of the border and "meddling" with what was identified as an explosive device, a military spokeswoman said, noting that the soldiers opened fire on one of the suspects.
It's still unknown how serious the injury was. But unconfirmed Palestinian reports said that the man was critically wounded in the incident.
