
Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa met here on Thursday with Vice President of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Yousef al-Bassam. During the meeting, Basindwa and al-Bassam discussed the cooperation relations between Yemen and the Fund in the current stage and future, particularly the progress of SFD-funded ongoing projects. They also dealt with the new projects the Fund is scheduled to finance currently, including three projects to be carried out in the capital Sana'a of King Abdullah Medical City, worth of $230 million and construction of new ring road and Brash and Brash tunnel at a cost of $62 million. The Prime Minister valued highly the generous support of Saudi Arabia for the development process in Yemen and the Fund's understanding of the importance to accelerate the finance and implementation of the projects in the current stage. Al-Bassam stressed the commitment of Saudi Arabia and the SFD to provide the ongoing support for the development programs in Yemen, saying that three grant agreements of $114 million had been signed today, which are allocated to the Social Development Fund (SDF), the al-Amal Bank and sanitation project in Hodeida.
