
Interior Minister Abdul-Qader Qahtan met here on Monday with United Nations (UN) resident coordinator in Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed. During the meeting, Qahtan and Ahmed discussed relations of cooperation and coordination between Yemen and the UN, particularly in security fields of cooperation and training, in addition to facilitating and protecting the work, residence and movement of the UN personnel in Yemen. The Interior Minister hailed the UN's efforts and role in supporting the government and people of Yemen in various humanitarian, development and political fields. The UN Resident Representative praised the progress made by Yemen in the political sphere, valuing the facilities and protection provided by Yemeni security authorities to the UN's staff in the country.
