Yemen, UNHCR discuss preparations for holding conference on refugees

Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi met here today with Acting Representative of UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to Yemen Bruno Geddo. During the meeting, they discuss the ongoing preparations for holding a regional conference on refugees and migration from the Horn of Africa to Yemen to be held during the period 11-13 November 2013 in Sana'a, organized by the Yemeni government in cooperation with the UNHCR and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Al-Qirbi praised the activity being carried out by the UNHCR in the country in the humanitarian fields. Geddo underlined the UNHCR's commitment to continue to support Yemen's efforts to address issues of refugees from the Horn of Africa.
