Former Chinese premier Wen Jiabao welcomes German Chancellor Angela Merkel to the National Museum of China
Hangzhou - Arab Today

Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Angela Merkel faced a funny situation ahead of the opening session of the G20 here on Sunday.

The two leaders spoke to TV cameras for a long time without any interpretation and did not understand each other making the participants laugh at the official reception hall of the summit.

They just smiled to each other at the end.

The Chinese president received his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El Sisi who is taking part in the summit as a special guest. They posed for pictures before joining the other leaders taking part in the summit for a group photo.
