
US President Barack Obama asserted on Sunday that his administration would join hands with the Turkish side to ensure holding those behind the attempted coup accountable.
This came during Obama's meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of G20 meetings that kicked off today in the Chinese city of Hangzhou.
On July 15, Turkey witnessed a putsch that led to the dismissal of 3,300 judiciary officials in a retaliatory security crackdown led by Erdogan.
Moreover,Turkish authorities have removed about 8,000 security personnel from duty, in the latest purge of people suspected of having links to those behind a failed coup in July
