US, Turkey discuss regional developments

US Vice President Joe Biden last night started a three-day visit to Turkey for talks with leaders in Ankara on continued U.S. support in the fight against PKK terrorism and the military withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. The discussions will include expanding trade opportunities between the U.S. and Turkey, the White house has said in a statement. The Turkish and American leaders will also review the situations in Syria, Afghanistan and the upcoming Cyprus negotiations. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is scheduled to bring the Cyprus parties together in January. Biden is then scheduled to address the Global Entrepreneurship Summit due here on Saturday. (QNA) f l
