Beirut - Irna

Lebanese Hezbollah in a statement released Friday, condemned the new terrorist crime that hit the Syrian capital Damascus and indicated that America and its submissive regional powers were behind it. According to the Lebanese Almanar website, Hezbollah Media Relations Office in a statement issued Friday, said: “This new terrorist crime that hit the Syrian capital Damascus Friday morning is the second round of the evil American power and it’s submissive powers’ scheme in our region, and is aimed at punishing Syria for its firm supportive stance to the resistance forces against the Zionist enemy and its supporters in the West.” “Moreover, it is a new evidence to the serious attack that Syria is being exposed to, and which is targeting its security, stability, location, and role,” the statement added. The Hezbollah further pointed out that “the blast that targeted the innocent and safe civilians on a holy day is a revelation that the parts that aim at internationalizing of the Syrian situation are irritated from the attempts to solve the problems in the country.” “It is also evidence to these forces’ rejection to any reformatory measures that could save the Syrian people from being dragged towards bloodshed.” Finally, the Hezbollah has condemned the terrorist crime and considered America in posiiton of forcing itself into our region to stir up incitements in it, in attempt to cover up the American defeats that appeared in its withdrawal from Iraq, and the ligering western defeat in Afghanistan. The party further pointed out that this was also an attempt to compensate for Washington’s strategic loss, and to prevent the sons of the region from managing their own affairs independently. 11 people were killed and 63 others injured in a terrorist explosion that targeted a Syrian police bus on Friday, official statement released by Interior Minister Major General Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar said Friday evening. It noted that one of the human boday parts remaining in the scene is believed to be part of the suicide bombers’ corpse. The Russian Foreign Ministry and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) have in separate statements condemned the Friaday terrorist operations in Syria. Hundreds of Syrian protesters also gathered in the scene, called for the execution of terrorists behind the explosion. Arab League observers were also present at the scene of the explosion to investigate the matter. Syrian people, speaking to the IRNA reporter at the scene said they believed that the Zionist regime elements were behind all terrorist activities in the country. Syrian people gathered at the scene of explosion and shouted slogans in support of Bashar a-Assad's government. Although the nearly 10-month-old US lead unrests in Syria, Damascus haves been relatively quieted but violence in the capital has been on the rise. On Dec. 23, according to the Syrian authorities, two car bombers blew themselves up outside the heavily guarded compounds of the country's intelligence agencies, killing at least 44 people and wounding 166. State-run TV said the al Qaeda terrorist network was possibly to blame. Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country. Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad. In October, calm was eventually restored in the Arab state after President Bashar al-Assad started a reform initiative in the country, but the US and Zionist regime plots could spark some new unrest in certain parts of the country.
