Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Friday met with his Lithuanian counterpart, Dalia Grybauskaite, to discuss the prospects of Ukraine's European integration and the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit. Yanukovych voiced his hope that his country would be able to sign an Association Agreement with the European Union (EU) at the summit in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius in late November. "We are going to complete the implementation of all agreements," Yanukovych promised. His country approved a draft Association Agreement with the EU on Wednesday. Grybauskaite said the signing of the agreement would be good for Ukrainians. "I would be very happy if Lithuania could become the place where a crucial step to meet the criteria for the integration is completed to bring a better future to your people," Grybauskaite told Yanukovych. The Eastern Partnership Summit will be joined by leaders of the EU and ex-Soviet countries.
