Arab Today, arab today UK PM: Obama right to draw red line on chemical weapons use

St Petersburg - Anadolu
British Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday that US President Barack Obama was right to draw a 'red line' on the Assad regime's August 21 chemical weapons attack near Damascus which claimed more than 1,300 lives. Speaking at a press conference on the second day of the G20 Summit in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, Cameron said that even the Syrian regime accepted the use of chemical weapons and added that the UK cannot stand by while the people of Syria suffer. "Despite 'public skepticism,' Obama will be 'persuasive' in making the case for action in Syria," said Cameron. "Some P-5 countries support UNSC backing for action in Syria, while they have authority to veto it."
