Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi
Abu dhabi - Arab Today

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, has stressed the UAE and the United Kingdom are working together to encourage dialogues, respect, and the values of peace across the world.

Sheikha Lubna said the UAE and the UK are exerting significant international efforts and multiple contributions to expanding joint human values. They also emphasised the importance of co-existence, respect of cultural diversity, tolerance and the renunciation of violence, extremism, hatred, and discrimination.

She also referred to multiple-initiatives launched in this regard, such as the joint initiative of the International Centre of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism (Hedayah).

Sheikha Lubna made these remarks while accompanying HRH Charles, the Prince of Wales, in his tour of the Sheikh Zayed Grande Mosque, SZGM, on the sideline of his visit to the UAE. Prince Charles was accompanied by his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, Philip Parham, British Ambassador to the UAE, a number of British officials accompanying Prince Charles and UAE officials also accompanied them.

Sheikha Lubna added that the UAE, in partnership with the United Kingdom, plays an important and vital role to promote tolerance, respect of cultural diversity, and the acceptance of intellectual, cultural and religious values.

She also noted that last week Abu Dhabi hosted the Muslim Council of Elders and the Anglican Church Forum, under the theme, ''Towards an understanding, integrated world''.

She added that such meetings contribute to understanding, co-existence and tolerance.
