 A UAE newspaper has said that the politically inconsiderate North Korea, which has refused to bend before the world's pleas and pressures, needs to realise that its raw cussedness and decaying social morality could lead not only to horror for its perceived rivals, but also Koreans.

"That’s because fights by definition have not been known for allowing reason and balance to bloom, which would mean automatic pain for the thousands walking the streets of North Korean cities and towns," said The Gulf Today in an editorial on Sunday.

The paper continued, "The ordinary Koreans whose sole post-natal aim must be, like millions of others, to lead a peaceful life may not agree with the country’s alarming point of view on weapons. Simple, no human being likes bloodshed and never ever on his own soil and Koreans can’t be different. They aren’t calling for peace through processions because their leader, who is determined to see his bloody agenda through, has gagged them.

"On Saturday, Kim Jong Un said the country was nearing its goal of "equilibrium" in military force with the United States. He said that as the United Nations Security Council strongly condemned the North’s 'highly provocative' ballistic missile test on Friday.

"The North’s official Korean Central News Agency carried Kim’s comments on Saturday, a day after the US and South Korean militaries detected the missile launch from the North Korean capital of Pyongyang.

"It travelled 3,700 kilometres (2,300 miles) as it flew over Japan before landing in the northern Pacific Ocean. It was the country’s longest-ever test flight of a ballistic missile.

"The North has confirmed the missile as an intermediate range Hwasong-12, the same model launched over Japan on 29th August. Kim vowed to complete his nuclear weapons programme in the face of strengthening international sanctions, the agency said.

"There are two factors that have helped Kim become dogmatic and openly so about the national agenda. The issue of the weapons of mass destruction is just one of them. The Korean leader belongs to a family that has been ruling the country for decades. That gives him a clear edge, now turning dangerous, over other political leaders. It also earns him a bizarre halo that naturally draws the support of those who are loyal to his family and by association makes his task easier and his power base stronger.

"The other factor is the West’s stand on the development of arms by any country other than its allies. And that stand is nothing short of bullying and smacks of an insatiable appetite for control of the world order. However, regardless of the reasons everything should be done to avoid a violent conflict. Our world simply can’t afford another war."
