
Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, has discussed in Oslo with Borge Brende Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, cooperation between the UAE and Norway. The two sides discussed ways to bolster the international development and humanitarian aspects, as well as coordination of joint stances. Sheikha Lubna stressed the UAE's keenness to strengthen its global partnership with various important partners in the humanitarian and developmental field, hailing the Norwegian efforts in this regard. The UAE minister congratulated the Norwegian Foreign Minister on formation of the new government, wishing activation of the cooperation between the two countries. She added that the UAE is pushing steadily the international efforts in all international issues, especially those related to the international development, in addition to providing all kinds of assistance to the underprivileged people and those affected by crises and catastrophes worldwide. Badr Abdullah Saeed Al Matrooshi, Acting Director of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) attended the meeting. Sheikha Lubna and Borge Brende reviewed various humanitarian issues, particularly the Palestinian and the Syrian refugees questions, and the efforts of the U.A.E and Norway in this regard. The Norwegian Foreign Minister commended the pioneer role of the UAE in the Middle East and its efforts to tackle a number of international humanitarian issues to achieve security, international stability in addition to its initiatives to support the millennium development goals. He referred to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' keenness to activate the partnership with the UAE. Sheikha Lubna also held meetings with other officials of the accompanying delegation.
