The UAE Armed Forces has released a book about its Special Forces present in Afghanistan. Called 'The Mission: Winds of Goodness' , the book said UAE forces have been present in Afghanistan since the last several years giving security and humanitarian assistance to a people who have witnessed more conflict than others in half a century. The 224-page book, both in Arabic and English, chronicles UAE's participation in the international operations in Afghanistan and its mission to bring stability in that country, according to "WAM" news agency. The book looks into the efforts of the UAE Armed Forces in Afghanistan in providing security, stability, humanitarian help and social and economic development braving the most hostile and challenging circumstances. The six-chapter book also sheds light on the international participation of UAE Armed Forces in various parts of the world which included Lebanon in 1976, Kuwait in1990, Somalia in1993, Kosovo in 1999 Lebanon again in 2001, Kuwait again in 2003, Pakistan relief operations in the wake of earthquake in 2005, Yemen in 2008, Pakistan again for relief and humanitarian operations in the wake of flodds in 2010, Bahrain in 2011 and finally Libya in 2011.
