The prime ministers of Moldova and Turkey on Friday appreciated the dynamic of bilateral contacts and expected a qualitatively new stage of the relations on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral ties.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim arrived on Friday in Chisinau, for a two-day official visit, the first ever official trip at the prime ministerial level from Turkey to Moldova.

Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip exchanged opinions with his Turkish counterpart on the main subjects on the international agenda, according to a governmental release reaching here from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.

The two officials also agreed to develop the present mechanism in the trade and economic sectors, to efficiently enforce the Free Trade Agreement and to back mutual investments.

Turkey is an important economic partner of Moldova and as many as 1,126 enterprises with Turkish capital work in Moldova, according to official sources.

Following the meeting, the two prime ministers signed a joint declaration and then attended the official inauguration of the new building of the Turkish embassy in Moldova.
