Konya - Anadolu

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated Thursday that claims on National Intelligence Agency (MIT) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan were not true, adding that it also revealed how perfect Fidan did his job. Speaking to journalists during a visit in central Anatolian Konya province, Davutoglu stressed that content and timing of ensuingly published articles and releases were significant, regarding Wall Street Journal's blame on Fidan, which stated that Fidan was "taking independent tack."   "Claims intended to Hakan Fidan are both untrue and an example of a very bad black propaganda," Davutoglu added. The Wall Street Journal had published an article named 'Turkey's Spymaster Plots Own Course on Syria' on October 10 on its website, where the author wrote about the process after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met US President Barack Obama in May, 2013, touching also upon Hakan Fidan and giving a detailed background information about him. Turkish fm renews hopes for 2nd Geneva conference to end tyranny in Syria Davutoglu stated Thursday that they hoped the Second Geneva conference would take place as soon as possible, ending the bloodshed and tyranny in Syria.   Davutoglu told journalists they supported each effort for a peaceful solution over Syria. Stressing that he discussed the problem with US Foreign Secretary John Kerry and French Minister for Foreign Affairs Laurent Fabius on the first day of Eid al-Adha, Davutoglu said, "if the Syrian regime has good intentions, the continuing attacks against the civilians, even during the holy days such as the eid, must be stopped. We hope that steps to prevent it will be taken in a short time, to which we will show maximum effort." Upon journalist's reminding over the upcoming meeting of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Davutoglu said there was already an existing cooperation mechanism between Turkey and Russia, organized each year. "This year in November, we won't only meet over Syria, but also over the uninterrupted high-level strategic cooperation relations, which have been continuing for four years between Turkey and Russia," Davutoglu added.
