Trump wins key battleground states to almost become 45th president

The world is bracing for what looks like an imminent win by Republican Donald Trump in a historic US election race to the White House.
So far, Trump holds a 244 to 219 electoral vote lead over the democratic candidate Hillary Clinton with counting still ongoing following surprising wins in key states such as Florida and Ohio.
Candidates need 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.
